History
Ye Bei comes from a very musical family, she began studying piano at age 7, later she graduated from China Conservatory of Music as a bachelor in vocal music. In 1994, she met the famous lyricist and composer Gao Xiaosong. In 1996, Gao Xiaosong became the music director for Rye Music, and Ye Bei became the first female singer there. In September 1997, she began to record her first album. In May 1998, she recorded the Chinese theme song “Meditation” for the Disney animated film Mulan, which is highly praised by Disney production director.
