On January 22nd, 2010, they performed in the Mao Livehouse Shanghai. According to Andy Best: Ourself Beside Me played a good set. The sound was the most intact of the four acts and they did a solid job after a few months off the gig circuit. The audience seemed into them too despite their experimental sound not usually being for everyone. Good for the audience.[1] On February 27th, they performed in the D-22. According to Alex of Beijing Gig Guide: As soon as they took the stage, though, draining their beers before they started to play, I knew I was in for a good show. While they were themselves fairly low-energy, their music is much more energetic than their recorded songs might have you believe.[2] On April 24th, they performed at the 2 Kolegas. According to Beijing Gig Guide:As last I saw them, it was a tight set. They weren’t as low-energy as they were last time, with the lead singer looking around the crowd with wide, accusing eyes as she sang.[3] On July 17th, 2010, they performed at the Qingyuan Niu Yu Zui Festival 2010. July 30th, they performed during the Zippo Hot List 3 at the Yugong Yishan. According to Beijing Daze: Next up was Ourself Beside Me who came onstage as a duo!!! No idea where the Bassist Xiehan was but the band still went on and played most of their songs with drums and guitar.. kinda like a toddler kid of the white stripes. (...) not their best show! The bass was definitely missing but at least, singer/guitarist Yangfan ( former Hang On The Box) didn’t look like she was holding the audience responsible for the evils that befall the world.[4] On August 21st, they performed during the Max Star Music Festival in the Ditan Park. According to Beijing Gig Guide: Despite the brevity of their set, I still enjoyed their sound. Their performance, on the other hand, was on its way to boring. I’ll probably stick to their CDs for these girls from now on.[5]
