La Haine
From Rock in China Wiki
La Haine, Macao punk
History
The band was formed in Macau by Portuguese expat high school kids and existed for a few years until all the members left Macau to pursue further studies in Portuguese universities. The band had socially conscious lyrics in Portuguese, including a title like "Tupac Amaru", a direct reference to the Peruvian Maoist guerilla movement. The name of the band was taken from the famous French movie by Matthieu Kassovitz.
