CNE interviews Zafka (Zhang Anding)

After a few beers and some hot Sichuan dishes, post-rocker/”sound artist” Zhang Anding (also known as Zafka) started talking about music, art, form, emotions, his eternal angst towards “sound art,” laptop performance, and even commented candidly on the domestic Chinese sound art scene. Though totally relaxed, our chat touched on several key issues in experimental music and sound art. Zhang is well-known in China mostly for his post-rock band “Prague” and is now a hyper active member of the Chinese sound art/experimental music scene.
