General information
Black Market Music Production was founded in early 2011 by Hong Kong independent artist OLIVER to promotion independent arts and culture between China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Business area included record labels, music production, artist management and events management. OLIVER began working with Hilikus Mike in mid 2011, and started its Taiwan branch to focus on independent music in Taiwan. In terms of record labels business, Black Market Music Production is one of very few that publish simultaneously in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Albums are published independently in Hong Kong, while published in collaboration with AsiaMuse. The first release from Black Market Music Production was "Value", by The Hunger Artist (bmmp001). The second release would be a compilation with a great number of artists from Hong Kong and Taiwan, "Black Market Music Compilation 2011" (bmmp002). A festival, "Taiwan Calling 2011" will be held in Hong Kong on September 17 and 18.
