About our site:
Pangbianr.com is a platform for exploring the lived experience of making art, music, film and food in China. Started by a group of friends living in Beijing who are looking to promote the DIY ethos, not only through the Pangbianr website, but through live music, art, film, fliers, and food events as well. July 25th is the first of many Pangbianr-related happenings to come.
About La Loupe:
La Loupe was started by Maia Bernstein (22, guitar, vocals, melodica) and Jordan Maseng (22, guitar, vocals). Both originally from New York, they started writing music exclusively in Chinese while attending Oberlin College in Ohio. In the Fall of 2009, Jordan and Maia moved to Beijing to try out their indie-folk songs on a Chinese audience. La Loupe plays regularly in venues across Beijing, and they have recently been putting the finishing touches on their premier album and music video. (Additional press can be found on their myspace.)
